Is the Cranfield MBA good?

Of late, i've noticed that many MBA aspirants have either asked me this question or have been visiting my blog to find an answer to this. So for the benefit of you all:

First the disclaimers :
1) I'll not compare MBA programs as Cranfield is the only B-School that i've studied in and so i cant talk about other schools.
2) Everything i write in this post is strictly my personal opinion. I'm neither paid by any individual or my university to write this piece.

Now to the core bit:

Education - I've just started my 2nd term here and i've been very very impressed with the quality of teaching and the faculty. Other than the teaching itself, the faculty are really approachable and are well respected in industry.

Student body - Generally, u'll see a mix of people in the age range of 24-55. This means there are people with significant work experience. The average work-ex of the class is 8 years and we learn a lot from class mates itself.

Alumni - They are very helpful. I've spoken with quite a few alumni and they have all helped me one way or the other whenever i've asked for it. In my opinion, alumni are the biggest take away from the program.

Career - This is one question that i hear a lot (particularly from Indian MBA aspirants). As with most B-Schools outside India, jobs dont come to us. But we have to actively look for jobs. Having said that, Cranfield has among the best placement success rates in the whole of Europe and is indeed a highly respected school. A major reason for this is the strong Careers department who stretch themselves to ensure that we have a bright future.

Bottomline - No one will be disappointed by taking a year off to improve yourself. An MBA is definitely worth a year especially if it is from Cranfield.
